Co-driver Aaron Crescenti is entering his second full season of rally competition in 2009. A New Jersey native, Aaron is a lifelong motorsport enthusiast who first became interested in rally during his college years. After cutting his teeth co-driving in navigational rallies and other lower-level events, Aaron competed in his first special stage rally, International Rally New York, in 2007.
In 2008 Aaron linked up with driver, Scott Wilburn and the pair found success almost immediately, winning the Finger Lakes Regional Rally outright on their second event together. Aaron’s detailed approach to co-driving, along with Scott’s smooth and consistent driving style has since proven to be a formidable combination.
Outside of rally competition, Aaron has combined his “day job” with his passion for motorsport by working as a design engineer for ATL Racing Fuel Cells. Aaron is also an avid mountain biker and enjoys watching motorsports and Rugby. For 2009 however, a majority of Aaron’s focus will be dedicated to continuing an already successful rallying partnership!
Co-Driver/ Team Manager Carrie Wilburn has been involved in rally for the past seven years. A native New Yorker, Carrie’s interest in cars and motorsports began at an early age. Some may even say it was an inherited trait considering both of her parents were car enthusiasts. Carrie began her rally experiences co-driving for her husband Scott in the Spring on 2002, just two weeks after they were married. While a roll shortly after then beginning of the first stage tested their faith in each others’ driving and co-driving skills, they continued racing together over the course of the next couple of years. Both continued developing their skills and along the way accomplished many successful class finishes. After the birth of their son Michael, Carrie decided to begin co-driving with different drivers. Over the course of the last few years Carrie has been very fortunate to have co-driver for some wonderful drivers. This has not only provided her a chance to develop her co-driving skills but also provided many entertaining stories along the way. During this time Carrie has won numerous co-driving awards for both individual events and the NASA and Rally In 2009 Carrie is looking forward to co-driving for Burak Tuglu in his 2001 Ford Focus. The season will begin at 100 Acre Woods Rally in February and the Monkey Wrench Motorsports Team wishes this pair a successful rally season.
